   GEOSYNTHETIC CLAY LINER (GCL)

Garware Wall Rope Ltd. has being supplying Geosynthetic clay liners for liquid or waste containment works. Geosynthetic Clay Liners are self-sealing barriers with a composite structure that utilizes the strength of millions of needle-punched fibers to secure a uniform layer of high swelling natural sodium bentonite. This combination of polymer fibers and a naturally occurring clay mineral creates the ultimate sealing layer with high long-term shear strength.

When hydrated under confinement, the bentonite swells to form a low permeability clay layer with the equivalent hydraulic protection of several feet of compacted clay.

Once hydrated GCL is an effective barrier against liquids, vapours and gases. GCL are basically used in waste & contaminated soil caps & closures, landfill base liners, Geomembrane protection layers, gas & vapor seals, surface impoundment liners, secondary containment, dams, canals, & watercourses, groundwater protection etc. These are available into large rolls for easy installation.
